17 Oct Es Torrent sends off the 2023 season this Sunday, October 22nd

After a very intense summer, at the Es Torrent restaurant we conclude the 2023 season this Sunday, October 22. A few months will be left in which we have been able to serve our customers with absolute normality, as happened last year, after the difficult years of the pandemic.

As always, our kitchen team has prepared thousands of paellas, noodles, ‘bullits de peix’ and lobsters with fried eggs and potatoes, as well as portions of grilled red shrimp, marinated tuna, Joselito ham, Padrón peppers and many other dishes characteristic of our menu. We have not yet determined the global figures that will summarize the season, but due to the pace at which we have operated and the numbers of previous years, we are convinced that more than 25,000 customers have passed through Es Torrent and we have served around 14 or 15 tons of fish.

2023 was our 37th season, as we explained in our previous post, and there is little left for us to reach 40 years of service from this small and rocky cove of es Cubells. Xico Sala installed here for the first time, in 1986, a wooden kiosk that had worked for a time on the beach of Cala Vedella. At the time, the staff consisted of three people: a cook, a waiter behind the bar and Xico, who served the dozen tables on the terrace. Today we are more than twenty people, but we try to maintain that soul of a beach bar, always offering a quality service.

As usual, we will return more or less in April 2024, after taking a good rest and conditioning the restaurant for the new season. We will announce the opening date a few weeks before it occurs, both with a post on this blog and in the ‘Location and reservations’ section of the website, where the times are indicated. Predictably, just like this season, we will rest on Wednesdays in April, May, September and October, while in June, July and August we will be open seven days a week. Cooking hours will also be as usual: from 13h to 22h.
